    Candace Rae Little

    October 5, 1981 - February 19, 2022

Candace Rae Little, 40, of Surfside Beach South Carolina - who is remembered for her strength, courage, and enduring friendships passed away Saturday February 19th surrounded by friends and family at MUSC Hospital. Candace was born in Middlebury, VT on October 5th, 1981 and lived in both Vergennes, VT and Ticonderoga, NY. She was a 1999 graduate of Ticonderoga High School and she gave birth to her son Zane who was the love her life in 2002. In 2011, Candace and her best friend Nikki decided they no longer wanted to brave the cold winters in the north so they packed up their belongings, and moved together down to Myrtle Beach, SC. With aspirations of being an educator and the opportunity to watch her son play baseball year-round Candace had a clear vision on how she wanted to live her life and she was well on her way. Unfortunately, in early 2012 Candace was diagnosed with LAM’s disease which thwarted her career plans. However, LAMS never stopped her from watching her son play ball. Throughout Candace’s journey with LAM’s disease and COVID she showed the most positive spirit and zest for life. Her strength and determination to overcome her obstacles was unwavering and her bravery is what those close to her will hold on to and remember the most. Candace had a unique way of making all things an adventure. Whether spending time with family, watching Zane play baseball, attending live concerts, telling people how much she loved Harry Potter, her beloved South Carolina Gamecocks and Carolina Panthers, Candace made it easy to fall in love with all the things she found magical in this world. Most of all, Candace made loving her and being loved by her magical. Whether it was close family and friends or complete strangers; Candace truly loved everyone. Candace walked into heaven holding hands with her father David and will be missed most by her loving son Zane who was the absolute light of her life and his father John. She will also be missed dearly by her mother Cheryl and her husband George, brother Brian and sister-in-law Rachel, stepbrother Francis, stepmother Tina, stepbrother Joshua, stepsister Jessica and brother-in-law John Michael, and most of all her two best friends Nikki and Ashleigh. Her friends and family are invited to attend her celebration of life being held at The Boathouse Restaurant, 201 Fantasy Harbour Blvd, Myrtle Beach, SC on Saturday March 5th, 2022 from 2;00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. A more intimate celebration will be held Sunday for family and close friends. In late April 2022, a second celebration of life will be held in Ticonderoga, NY. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Candace’s memory to the LAM’s foundation, thelamfoundation.org. Arrangements are in care of the Goldfinch Funeral Homes Beach Chapel, 11528 Frontage Rd, Murrells Inlet, SC 29576.
