Charlton Butler

Conway, SC…Charlton Butler, age 78, passed away Saturday, February 5, 2022 at his residence. Mr. Butler was born May 15, 1943 in Conway, a son of the late Newton Allen and Ruby Mae Edge Butler. He attended Trinity United Methodist Church in Conway and was a member of Tabernacle United Methodist Church in Lancaster. Mr. Butler retired from the U.S. Army where he served during the Vietnam War. He was a Mason and was a member and Past Master of the Wannamaker Masonic Lodge # 329 in Lancaster and was a member of the Ridgeway Masonic Lodge # 30 in Ridgeway. Mr. Butler was a proud veteran and a proud cattle farmer. Surviving are his wife of 49 years, Penny Butler, a son, Steve Butler and his wife, Courtney and their son, Leonidas of Conway, a daughter, Brent Worth Metz and her husband, Jeremy and their son Roosevelt of Elizabeth, WV. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 PM Wednesday, February 9, 2022 at Tabernacle United Methodist Church Cemetery in Lancaster, SC. The family will receive friends after the service at the cemetery.
