Daphne Fipps

Daphne Fowler Fipps, age 96, passed away Friday, May 22, 2026 in Summerville, S.C. Mrs. Fipps was born on June 8,1929 in Clarendon, North Carolina. She was the daughter of the late Clarence H. Fowler and Clydie Stephens Fowler. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Bruce Fipps, son Henry Bruce Fipps, Jr., her parents, two brothers and two sisters. She is survived by two daughters, Lynn Fipps Wieringa and husband Charles (Skip) and Carol Bruce Fipps Short and husband Dennis D. Short. Five grandchildren; Colin B. Wieringa (Jamie), Charles B. Wieringa (Kim), Nicole W. Greenway (Kyle), Colby Wright Hall (Jacob) and Samuel C. Wright (Alexis); seven great grandchildren, Reagan Nicole Peppler, Elsa Emelia Greenway and Beckham Allen Greenway, Isabelle Grace Hall and Lucy Jane Hall, Finn Wilder Wright and River Wren Wright. Mrs Fipps was a life long member of Loris First Baptist Church where she served faithfully in Sunday School working with primary, intermediate, young adults and adults, also serving in Vacation Bible School, GA's and WMU. She was an active member of the Loris Garden Club and the American Legion Auxiliary serving as president, secretary and treasurer. Mrs. Fipps was most importantly a believer and follower of Jesus Christ. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and aunt to many nieces and nephews, as well as a friend to all with a heart full of kindness and love. To know her was to be loved and blessed by her sweet spirit. The family would like to extend gratitude to the caregivers of Lowcountry Hospice Agape Care Group and Mrs. Elizabeth Mikulski, her part time caregiver who provided us with much needed respite. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 30, 2026 at 12:00 PM from the Chapel at Goldfinch, Loris with the Rev. Dr. Paul A. Wood, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at Patterson Cemetery, Loris. Visitation is at Goldfinch Funeral Home in Loris, South Carolina at 11:00 AM prior to services.
