Edward C Kissel Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Edward C. Kissel of Pawleys Island, SC, passed away on June 11, 2022, at the age of 84. Ed was born on June 1, 1938, in Passaic NJ. He grew up in Rutherford, NJ, graduated high school, attended college, married, and had two children with his first wife in Chatham, NJ. He was enlisted in the National Guard and worked as an engineer until his retirement as the Director of Engineering in a major pharmaceutical company. He also lived in Denville, NJ and later retired to Pawley’s Island, South Carolina with his current wife, Helen Kissel. Ed was very intelligent and talented. He loved reading, fishing, woodworking, playing the guitar and the beach. He was always occupied by working on a project or improvement of some kind. He was skilled in so many areas. He had an amazing collection of things he made which spanned from woodworking to painting and drawing. Ed was able to build or fix things and was always up for the challenge, from home renovation projects to repairing anything. His family cherishes the legacy he left behind. Ed was predeceased by his father, Louis Kissel, mother, Alice Kissel and sister, Elaine Smithson and her husband, Charlie. He is survived by his brother Louis and wife, Dorothy; his wife, Helen; his daughter and son-in law, Deborah and Bill Campesi; his other daughter, Diana Calvanico; his four grandchildren, Anthony, Juliana, Autumn, and Lucas; his stepdaughter and husband, Laurie and Joe Conklin and their children; and his stepson and wife, Glenn and Lisa MacMoyle. Ed has chosen to be cremated. A “Celebration of Life” will be held in NJ at a later date to be announced. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
