FRANCES (BECKY) REBECCA GRAY CAUSEY Becky was born September, 25th, 1942, in Windsor, Virginia. She was the daughter of the late Bob Thomas Gray and Frances Bracey Gray. Becky was preceded in death by her second husband, William Carl Causey, Sr. She is survived by her son, Richard George Grassy III (Lisa Merlin) of Seattle, WA; daughters, Pamela Leigh Grassy of Murrells Inlet, SC; Theresa Grassy Tempest (Kevin Tempest) of Reedsburg, WI; Sarah Grassy Vance (Justin Vance) of Centennial, CO; step-daughter, Tina Johnson (Wayne Johnson) of Goose Creek, SC; step-daughter, Angela Nuottila (David Nuottila) of Chapin, SC; her two sisters, Cylinda Gray Hair (Jerry Hair) of Hope Mills, NC; Janet Bracey Gray of Hope Mills, NC; her brother Robert Thomas Gray of Windsor, VA; ten grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and a special friend, Jack Collins of Ludlow, VT. After attending Windsor High school, Becky graduated from Petersburg General Hospital School of Nursing in Petersburg, Virginia in 1963. Her nursing career spanned 50 years in various fields of medicine. In 1985 she opened and operated Grassy Homes Inc., which included three assisted living facilities in Wisconsin (two in Dodgeville and one in Mineral Point.) She spent time in Fairbanks, Alaska, as a traveling nurse, in addition to many years as a hospice nurse around the Murrells Inlet area She retired from nursing in 2013. Becky was devoted to setting high standards of quality for senior adult care. From 2016-2020 Becky also owned and operated a bed and breakfast called, “Becky’s Place,” in Murrells Inlet, SC. Becky loved meeting new people and never met a stranger. She made many long lasting friendships that she greatly cherished. Becky was a member of Precious Blood Catholic Church in Pawleys Island, SC. A celebration of life service will be held Monday, August 17th, 2020 at Precious Blood Catholic Church in Pawleys Island at 11:00 am. Following the service, there will be a graveside service at Belin United Methodist Church Cemetery in Murrells Inlet. The family will receive visitors at Becky’s home at 921 Refuge Way, Murrells Inlet, SC. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Amedisys Hospice.
