April 12, 1996 - February 10, 2022
Hunter Hardee, age 25, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, February 10, 2022. Hunter was living and working in Charleston, SC, at the time. Hunter was born in Mt. Pleasant, SC, on April 12, 1996. During his younger days, he and his family moved to Richmond, VA, and Mooresville, NC, before settling in Fishers, IN, for most of Hunter’s life. Hunter attended Hamilton Southeastern High School where he played football and baseball. He went on to play football at Manchester University, and then proudly graduated with a BS in Business from Bluffton University (OH) in May, 2021. Hunter had a job waiting for him after graduation, and immediately moved to Charleston. He was most recently employed with Enterprise Rental Cars as a management trainee. He was excited for the opportunities that he foresaw. Hunter loved football, the beach, working out, cheering on the Colts, being with friends, and his family. He was at his happiest when he was playing football. Hunter was a huge personality, and his easy smile and bright blue eyes brought joy to all who knew him. He had a way of relating to people that made you like him instantly. Even through hardships, he was simply lovable. His family meant so much to him, and even as the family had spread out geographically, they seemed to grow even closer. The family group chat was always buzzing with shared news, silly stuff, and “Love you’s”. Hunter leaves behind his parents, Pete and Bridget Hardee, his older sister Grace, younger sister Sarah, and younger brother Jake. He is also survived by his maternal grandmother Mary Ann McGuire, aunts Caryn Steffey (husband Darryl, sons Ryan and Nolyn), Colleen O’Rourke (husband Tim, son Patrick and daughter Kelly), and uncle John McGuire. On his dad’s side, he is survived by his grandparents Don and Pat Hardee, uncle Craig (wife Dawn), and aunts DeeAnna Kercheval and Sheri Oliver. Hunter joins his grandfather, Jack McGuire, with God. We are heartbroken that our time here with Hunter is over. His loss is a hurt that we will carry. But we have faith that he is at peace, and will be watching over us until we meet him again in God’s heaven. “I can do all things, through Christ, who strengthens me.” In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital in Indianapolis, IN. Funeral mass will take place 10:00 am, Saturday, February 19, 2022 at St. Michael Catholic Church, Murrells Inlet, with burial to follow at Ocean Woods Cemetery in Myrtle Beach. Visitation with the family will be from 5:00-7:00 pm, Friday, February 18, 2022 at Goldfinch Funeral Home, Beach Chapel. To sign an online guestbook, please visit www.goldfinchfuneralhome.com.
