Irove Buffkin

Nichols...Irove Floyd Strickland Buffkin, age 99, passed away Sunday, September 1, 2013. Mrs. Buffkin was born in Horry County, a daughter of the late Joseph P. Floyd and the late Lola Todd Floyd. She was a member of Pleasant View Baptist Church and worked at the Loris Extended Care Facility for many years. Mrs. Buffkin was predeceased by her first husband Dayton Strickland, her second husband Valerie Buffkin, and a daughter Elaine Strickland Blanton. Survivors include one daughter, Myrna S. Sarvis; five grandchildren, Gail B. Cox, Ann B. Floyd, Beverly S. Williams, Ronald B. Sarvis, and Emma Blanton; eight great-grandchildren, Tammy Floyd, Tony Cox, Jennifer Williams, Scott Floyd, Brad Sarvis, Joey Williams, Graham Williams, and Matt Cox; ten great-great-grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Nina Floyd. Visitation will be Tuesday, September 3, 2013, from 6:00-7:00 p.m. at Goldfinch Funeral Home, Loris Chapel. Funeral services will be held 5:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 4, 2013, at Pleasant View Baptist Church with the Rev. James C. Shelley and Pastor John Watts officiating.
