Joan A. Schusteritsch

Joan A. Schusteritsch, age 89, widow of the late Robert G. Schusteritsch, passed away peacefully at her residence on Saturday, December 28, 2019. Born in Bronx, NY, she spent most of her life in Merrick, Long Island and was a daughter of the late John Larkin and Anna Pierce. She retired from Verizon after many years of service and was a faithful member of St. Andrews Roman Catholic Church in Myrtle Beach. She graduated Kumasi laude from Malloy College in NY and was an accomplished tap dancer who danced with the Great American Tap in NY. Talented at calligraphy, she shared her gift of it with many people during her life. Most of all, she was a loving mother and grandmother who will be missed by her family and friends. In addition to her parents and loving husband, she was predeceased by a son, John Schusteritsch. Surviving to cherish her memory are 2 daughters: Linda Harris and her husband Howie of Myrtle Beach, SC, Susan Kilarski and her husband Michael of Roseville, CA; a son, Robert Schusteritsch and his wife Nichole of San Francisco, CA; 5 grandchildren: Courtney, Kristen, Linda, Daniel and Elsie; 1 brother, James Larkin of Queens, NY and a sister, Janet Castine of Albuquerque, NM. Mass of the Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, January 2, 2020 at St. Andrews Roman Catholic Church, Myrtle Beach. Burial will be at Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Sacramento, CA. Memorial contributions may be made in Joan’s name to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, www.stjude.org.
