Myrtle Beach…Joshua P. Carney Joshua Powers Carney age 41, formerly of North Haven, CT, died Thursday, October 19, 2017 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. Survived by is his awesome wife of 20 years, Lillian Collins Carney of Myrtle Beach, formerly of Branford, CT; super awesome daughter, Shayla Carney of Myrtle Beach, son of Kim Powers Carney and the late John L Carney of North Haven, CT; and sister, Megan Carney of Wallingford, CT. Right out of high school, Josh started his firefighting career in the U.S. Air Force. Continuing with his passion, Josh joined Midway Fire Rescue 18 years ago, rising to the rank of Battalion Chief. He was also the owner/operator of JLS Firearms Training. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, October 27, 2017 at Holy Cross Faith Memorial Church in Pawleys Island. The family will receive friends from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 PM Thursday, October 26, 2017 at Goldfinch Funeral Home, Beach Chapel.
