Letitia McGlone

November 23, 1926 - February 20, 2022

Lettie or Sis as her family and friends called her age 95, passed away peacefully at National Health Care with her niece Cindy by her side on Sunday, February 20, 2022. She was at the rehab center following a partial hip replacement due to a fall. Born in Brooklyn, New York on November 23, 1926 into a large family of six brothers, she was a daughter of the late Louis and Speranza Savarese. She had an exceptional memory and loved to recall stories of her and her family. Lettie was a talented pianist and opera singer, taking lessons in New York as a child. She continued her love of opera by serenading people at her assisted living home. She and her second husband, Thomas J. McGlone moved from Brooklyn, NY to retire in Murrells Inlet in the 1980’s. They enjoyed the warmer weather and being a part of the Indian Wells Community. She had a soft spot for those in need and supported several charities. Lettie was preceded in death by her husband and all six of her brothers. She is survived by many nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM Friday, February 25, 2022 at St. Michael Catholic Church, 542 Cypress Ave. Murrells Inlet, SC 29576. Interment will follow at the church columbarium grounds. In lieu of flowers the family request all contributions be made to the charity of one’s choice in memory of Lettie. Goldfinch Funeral Home, Beach Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
