Marjorie S. Ballentine, passed away at the age of 93 on Monday, March 29, 2021 in Spring, Texas. The daughter of the late Samuel R. and Mary Angelow Sharp, Marjorie was born on January 28, 1928 in Mount Holly, NJ. She attended Moorestown, NJ public schools and graduated from the Taylor School of Business in Philadelphia, PA. For many years, she worked for Verizon (fka New England Telephone) in various capacities. Marjorie enjoyed volunteering for her church and taught Sunday School classes for over thirty years at the First Baptist Church of North Adams, MA. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Myrtle Beach for 16 years and was a member of the Williamson Sunday School class and “Busy Hands”. She was subsequently a member of the First Baptist Church in Surfside Beach for many years and a member of the Joy Sunday School class. Marjorie had many interests that included playing bridge with her friends, and playing golf as a longtime member of Deer Track Gold Course in Myrtle Beach and Taconic Golf Club in Williamstown, MA. She enjoyed sewing and knitting with the Busy Hands group, square dancing as a member of Sand Dollars Squares in Myrtle Beach and Hairpin Turners in North Adams, MA. She is preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, John David Ballentine, and by her brother, Roger Sharp, and her brother-in-law, William Ballentine. She is survived by her daughter, Carol Ann Ballentine Andrew, and her husband, Wallace, of Canaan, NH; her son, Robert Scott Ballentine, and his wife Addie of Spring, TX; as well as her grandchildren, Meaghan Wilson, and her husband, Geoffrey; Jonathan Andrew and his wife, Amanda; Benjamin Andrew and his wife Vanessa; Jillian Andrew; Matthew Ballentine and his wife, Kandy; and Dayna Campeau. She is also survived by her brother, Harold Sharp, and his wife, Janice; her brother-in-law, Robert J. Ballentine, and his wife, Ellen; as well as several great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. In celebration of her life, the family will receive friends and family at Goldfinch Funeral Home’s Beach Chapel on Saturday, April 3, 2021 between 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m., followed immediately thereafter by a graveside service at the Hillcrest Cemetery — Conway with Dr. Wayne Brown officiating. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Goldfinch Funeral Home, Beach Chapel.
