Mike Bomgardner, age 76, died Tuesday, January 5, 2021 at Tidelands Waccamaw Community Hospital. Born in Washington D.C., Mike was a son of the late Alvin and Mary Bomgardner. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran with 4 years of service, a U.S. Park Police Officer in Washington D.C. for 20 years, and a Deputy Sheriff for Calvert County, Maryland for 10 years. Mike was also a member of the American Legion. Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Constance Bomgardner; son Michael Bomgardner of Huntingtown, MD; daughters Carol Church of Pass Christian, MS, Janette Gross of Murrells Inlet, SC; 10 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; sister Pat Janik of Malvern, PA; and many nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service will be held at Goldfinch Funeral Home, Beach Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Murray Center For Research on Parkinson’s and Related Disorders, 171 Ashley Ave. Charleston, SC 29425 Goldfinch Funeral Home, Beach Chapel is handling the arrangements.
