    Phyllis A. Dominick

    May 5, 1944 - February 3, 2022

Phyllis Dominick of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina passed from this life on February 3, 2022, after a short battle with Covid. Born in Preston, MD on May 5th, 1944, she was the daughter of the late Byron and Eloise White. Phyllis graduated from Colonel Richardson High School in Federalsburg, MD. She worked at Busch’s Chesapeake Inn and then Baltimore Gas and Electric as a customer service representative for over 25 years. She was the wife of Anthony Dominick, who preceded her in passing away last year. They were married for 29 years, having met in Maryland, prior to moving to South Carolina to enjoy their later years together. They enjoyed cruises, beach outings, volunteering and being active members in local clubs. Phyllis loved to stay busy by being active in her local community and volunteering for various functions at the Sons of Italy lodge. She loved the beach, gardening, and spending time with family and friends and her cat, Smudge. She was a witty, charming and gracious host, and she never forgot a birthday. Survivors include her children, Thomas “Tommy” Swartz of Oxford, MD and Maria Swartz of Annapolis, MD; stepchildren Lori Dominick of Greenbelt, MD, Anthony Dominick of Baltimore, MD and Kimberly Dominick, her husband Scott Shores, and daughter Lilah, of Cambridge, MD; and sister Deanna Fijak of Rhode Island. She was preceded in death by her son, Gregory Swartz, her brother Byron “Bobby” White, and her sister, Lela Nichols. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society and the ASPCA in Phyllis’ name. There will be a Celebration of Life at a later date due to Covid-19 Goldfinch Funeral Home, Beach Chapel is assisting the family.
