December 15, 1968 - September 21, 2021
Raquel Fernandez Bottaro left this world on a beautiful sunset on September 21, 2021 after a short illness. She will be mourned and missed for all of our days, but we are comforted by her unbridled faith in Jesus Christ, and the promise of His word. She was born on December 15, 1968, the daughter of Mario and Zoraida Fernandez. Raquel was a beautiful, talented and loving woman, a teacher, daughter, wife, and Mother. She was kind, funny, and fierce in her love of family. Her presence was always, welcome, and she was loved beyond possible measure. Raquel leaves behind, for now, her loving husband John Bottaro, her son Dion Bottaro her daughter Zoraida Bottaro, of Myrtle Beach, both of whom were the very beat of her heart. She is loved and missed forever by her Mother, Zoraida Fernandez, of Myrtle Beach, who was also her best friend, her Mother in Law Dottie Bottaro of Liberty, New York, Grandmother Luz Maria Lugo of Puerto Rico. She also leaves behind John’s children, never ‘step children’ as she loved them unconditionally. Ryann Lagattuta, Anthony Bottaro, and Dominic Bottaro, and 3 grand girls who loved her very much, Jordan Reichenbaugh, Madison Kaufman, and Isabella Bottaro, all of Myrtle Beach. She also leaves behind countless friends and co-workers, as well as the little children who were blessed to have her as their teacher. Raquel was predeceased by her father Mario Fernandez. We know that there was a joyful reunion for the both of them! An unbearable loss. Grief will soften with time, but the memories Raquel left us with will be clear in our hearts forever. “What is remembered, lives.” A funeral service to honor Raquel will be held on Tuesday, September 28, 2021 at 11:00 AM at Goldfinch Funeral Home in Carolina Forest (325 Hinson Drive, Myrtle Beach, SC 29579). The family will receive friends during visitation prior to the service from 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM. Following the service, Raquel will be laid to rest at Hillcrest Cemetery (1000 Hwy 544, Conway, SC 29526).
