Myrtle Beach… Roger V. Martin, age 81, passed away Monday, February 22, 2021 at his residence, surrounded by his loving family. Born July 17, 1939 in Loris, SC, he was the son of the late Jessie and Flora Jackson Martin. Mr. Martin was the owner and operator of Roger Martin Construction, where he built many dreams over the years. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved to fish and hunt. Mr. Martin will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. Along with his parents, Mr. Martin was predeceased by a granddaughter, Emilee Brooke Martin; a brother, Milton Martin; and two sisters, Sandra Martin Gerald and Linda Martin Singleton. Surviving are his wife of 60 years, Betty A. Martin; two sons, Rodney D. Martin (Lynne) and Ricky D. Martin (Terri); two grandchildren, Rodney D. Martin II (Mellissa) and Hunter Alan Martin (Felicia); four great-grandchildren, John "Asher" Martin, Prescott Jane Martin, Kelsie Reece Cribb, and Colby Luke Martin; a sister, Judy Ballard; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family.
