Tadeusz "Ted" John Knap Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Tadeusz (Ted) John Knap (85) of Pawleys Island, SC passed away on Sunday, July 17, 2022. Beloved husband of Dorothy (neé Tempalsky) Knap for 64 years. Born in Elizabeth, NJ, he attended St. Adalbert’s grammar school and graduated Edison High School in 1955. Ted was a member of the National Guard before becoming a Police Officer in Linden, NJ where he served for 38 years. After he retired, they moved to Pawleys Island, SC after many years of vacationing here. Ted and Dot were married in 1958 and have two children. Devoted father to son Richard who lives in California and daughter Karen who resides in New Jersey. Cherished grandfather of Michael, his wife Katie, granddaughter Ashley and her fiancé Danny Smith who all reside in California. Also, survived by his brother Arthur Knapp, his wife Karen and nieces and nephews. Ted and Dot loved to travel, have visited many countries, and enjoyed going on cruises. Ted also enjoyed gardening and yard work. He was an avid reader of all things pertaining to World War II. Ted is predeceased by his parents Teofil and Catherine Januz Knap and loving brother Alfred Knap. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, July 22, 2022, at Precious Blood of Christ Catholic Church. The family will receive friends from 2:00-4:00 PM Thursday 21st at Goldfinch Funeral Home, Litchfield/Pawleys Island Chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude or Wounded Warriors. The family wishes to express their sincere thanks and appreciation to the staff of Embrace Hospice House for the kind and compassionate care they gave to Ted and his family.
