Mrs. Vonnie Elizabeth Shortt, 76, widow of Jimmy Lee Shortt, Sr., passed away March 28, 2022 at Lower Cape Fear Life Care in Wilmington, NC. Born January 25, 1946 in Conway, SC, Mrs. Shortt was the daughter of the late Mack Duffy Cannon and the late Mary Jane Rabon Cannon. She retired from Conway Mills in the Yarn Spinning Department and attended Rocky Point Freewill Holiness Church. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who was cherished by her family and will be missed more than words can express. She could always be seen with a cup of coffee in hand and she had a fondness for all kinds of animals. In addition to her husband Mrs. Shortt was predeceased by five brothers. Survivors include her children, Jimmy Lee Shortt, Jr. and his wife Loretta, Billy Wayne Shortt and his wife April, Rocky Michael Shortt and his wife Elizabeth, and Teresa Rabon and her husband Hal; her grandchildren, Brandi, Nikki, Stephanie, Chase, Hannah, Leah, Damian, Savannah, Skigh, and Rocky; thirteen great-grandchildren; her brother, Jimmy Cannon and his wife Anna; and her two sisters, Gay Gasque and Dale Lucshadow. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, March 31, 2022 at Hillcrest Cemetery, officiated by Rev. John Holmes.
