Wendy Joan Thompson

July 19, 1953 - April 19, 2022

Wendy Joan (Campbell) Thompson, 68, passed away in the early morning of Tuesday, April 19, 2022. Wendy was born in Massachusetts on July 19, 1953. She was the daughter of Ruth and Everett Campbell. Wendy grew up in New York before moving to the Charlotte, NC area. Wendy was a loving wife, sister, and aunt. She was a faithful employee at First Union Bank before meeting her love, Richard “Dick” Thompson, and moving to Colorado in 1997. She became a successful realtor in the area until retiring. She and Dick had a love of old cars, and they would travel the West while visiting various car shows. She returned to the Charlotte area after the death of her husband. Wendy was known for her Christmas Eve lasagna and her love of her toy poodles over the years. Wendy is survived by many loving family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dick Thompson; brother, Peter Campbell; and parents, Ruth and Everett Campbell. The family would like to thank Brightwater Senior Care and Promedica Hospice for the care they provided over the last few months. Wendy will be reunited with Dick at the Pikes Peak National Cemetery in Colorado. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be sent to Holy Angels, 6600 Wilkinson Blvd, Belmont, NC 28012.
