Willie Herbert "Ronnie" Canady
May 15, 1944 - January 30, 2022
Willie Herbert "Ronnie" Canady, age 77, was born in Loris on May 15, 1944. He was always known to everyone as the little man named "Ronnie". His momma gave him that nickname and it stuck, so that is what everyone called him. Ronnie was a Southern Baptist Christian and the Lord saw fit to take him home to Heaven on January 30, 2022. He loved sitting outside on the bench, taking care of his five cats, spending time with his brother J. B., and going to Shorty's and then to Floyd's auction with his sister, Joyce. He loved seeing people and talking with them whenever he went out or if they came to visit. Ronnie was mentally challenged and never married or had children; his niece Helen Harrelson took care of him. He did work in the tobacco fields with different farmers when he was younger. Ronnie was preceded in death by his parents, James Burroughs Canady, Sr. and Charity Emma Tyler Canady; his sisters, Merlene Rheuark and Betty Carter; and his brothers, Donnie Canady, Wendel Canady, Lloyd Canady, and Earl Canady. Survivors include his brother, James "J. B." Canady, Jr.; his sister, Joyce Phipps; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, February 5, 2022 at Cane Branch Baptist Church, officiated by Rev. Tony Carter. Burial will immediately follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the funeral service.
