MYRTLE BEACH | Marie Miller Dail Herrington, 67, died in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, Sunday, November 18, 2007 after a short bout with cancer. She was born February 17, 1940 in Millertown, West Virginia to the late Flay and Nellie Miller. She attended Sissonville schools and graduated nursing training from Charleston Memorial and St. Frances hospitals. Mrs. Herrington had been employed at Charleston General Hospital prior to her move to SC. She was employed at Grand Strand Regional Medical Center, then was the office nurse for Dr. Lauchlan McKay before she retired. After retirement, she completed classes at Horry-Georgetown Technical College to become a certified floral designer and then at Clemson University as a master gardener. Her favorite things in life were her family, her pets, and gardening. Mrs. Herrington is survived by her husband of 31 years, Bill Herrington; one daughter, Alesha Flores Richard of Myrtle Beach; one son, Craig Dail of Myrtle Beach; four stepchildren, Wm Herrington, Jr. of Columbia, Questria Powell Jim of Atlanta, Andy Herrington of Loris and Mikel Herrington of Washington, DC; her beloved grandchildren, Michelle Donovan Brian of Myrtle Beach, Ricky Flores Stacy of FL, Chris Flores Cheryl of TX, LCpl Alan Flores USMC Nicole of NC, April Robert Montgomery, Chad and Christen Dail, all of Myrtle Beach, Jennifer, Jessica, Quinton, Jim and Travis Powell, all of Atlanta, Ayles, Lee and Lane Herrington, all of Columbia; eight beautiful great-grandchildren, Tyler and Brylee Donovan, Sierra, Alexis, Alana, Gavin, and Phoenix Flores and Makayla Dail; one brother, Henry Miller Linda; three sisters, Jane Gibson, Jody Thaxton Boogie, Mary Stafford Wes, all of W.VA; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents and first husband, Msgt Calvin C. Dail USAF. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, November 21, 2007 at Goldfinch Funeral Home, Beach Chapel. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2007 at the funeral home.
