Anne Herlinda Goldfinch Locascio beloved wife of Lawrence J. Locascio, Jr.; adored mother of Lisa and Julia Locascio; loving daughter of the late Charles William Goldfinch and Elizabeth Canales Goldfinch; treasured granddaughter of the late Jose Tomas and Anne Wheeler Canales; dear godmother of Jonathan Stuckey and Byanca, Yesenia, and Nancy Salazar; prized friend of Margaret and John Stuckey, Lalena Porro Goard, Nydia and Omar Salazar, and Jasper Nighthawk Henderson. Anne was raised in Westport, Connecticut, Paris, France and San Antonio, Texas. She was a devoted mother and wife, artist, and patron of the arts. An avid reader with vast and varied interests, Anne was an alumna of the Institut Saint Dominique, Paris, St. Mary's Hall, San Antonio, TX, Pine Manor College, Brookline, MA, and George Washington University. She went on to masters work in painting at the Corcoran School of the Arts and Design, Meadows School of the Arts at Southern Methodist University, and the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Anne was sweet, kind, and generous. She exhibited great empathy for those less fortunate. She loved all sides of her large extended family and kept in close touch with everyone throughout her life. Anne spoke four languages, had dear friends across the world, and loved music. She was patron of Noah Geller, Concertmaster of the Seattle Symphony, whom she helped attend The Juilliard School. Anne filled her life and the lives of those who loved her with fun, humor and positivity. She conveyed her passions to daughters Lisa (Educator and Author in Los Angeles) and Julia (Theatre Director in London) in a big beautiful Lannon Stone house just outside Chicago in River Forest, Illinois, which she curated, as one of Julia's teenage friends put it, "like the most eccentric and wonderful museum." Her daughters survive her along with Larry, her loving husband of 36 years. Graveside service will be held on Saturday, April 8, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Lakeside Cemetery with Father Charles Faso and Rev. Richard Ward officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations to: The Mendocino Coast Writers' Conference (mcwc.org). These funds will be used to continue the Anne G. Locascio Scholarship.
