Edward Allen Crawford of Rose Run passed away peacefully at the Lakes of Litchfield on May 10, 2026. . Known as Eddy, he was born on December 18, 1940 in Dayton, TN. He was the son of late Robert and Ruth Crawford and he was predeceased by his pharmacist brother “Doc” J. Robert Crawford.He is survived by his longtime girlfriend “honey-bunny” as he called her, MaryJane. He was drafted into the US Army during the Vietnam war and was a sharpshooter. His career took him to Alexandria, VA with the then Bell Atlantic (now Verizon) from working the poles to promotion to outside supervisor & trainer. He loved the Washington Commanders. He retired at age 50 and eventually relocated to Pawleys Island where he could play golf year-round. His life included many adventures including being an extra in the movie Goldfinger and meeting and speaking with Elvis in a hotel and being in Basic Training with baseball star Pete Rose. Eddy was a kind, generous person who valued people and long time friendships. He connected with people and like to learn their story. He was known to travel some roads in local area around Christmas with $50 bills which he would generously give to homeless or folks looking for help. Although he had a small biological family, he garnered friends like chosen family wherever he went including the old Cabana club, Hanser House and the Pawleys Raw Bar. Often known to say “he never met a shrimp he didn’t like” & “the checks in the mail”. He loved his pony size Coronas as well. His chosen family would like to thank Vivian & Leah, his pals and caregivers/neighbors and his longtime friends who helped throughout his recent illness in all sorts of ways visiting, helping with taxes and finances, jump starting his car and helping with his game schedules on TV. He truly appreciated all of these people and the help they gave him. According to his wishes, there will be no services but a celebration of life will be planned in the future with his close circle of friends. In lieu of flowers, Eddy would like you to donate to your favorite charity or the person on the street or pay forward some kindness to those you meet in your daily life but most of all, he just appreciated you being his friend. Godspeed dear Eddy!
