ELIZABETH LUNSFORD GRAGG July 27, 1919 ??? June 26, 2014 ELIZABETH LUNSFORD "LIB" GRAGG was born in Asheville, N.C. on July 27, 1919, and was the daughter of the Rev. Thomas Oakley Lunsford of Weaverville, N.C. and Lula Bradley Lunsford of the Forks of Ivy, N.C. The Rev. Lunsford was co-founder of Hays & Lunsford Electric Motor Company in Asheville, and was pastor of several churches in the Asheville area in the 1940s. Mrs. Gragg was the youngest of four children with one sister and two brothers -- Nelle, Ted and Sid -- and graduated from Grace High School in Asheville in 1936. For almost 62 years, she was married to Lemuel Wallace "Skip" Gragg, a native of Globe, N.C., who was a World War II veteran and the founder of Conway Electric Motor Company in Conway. Mrs. Gragg loved Jesus Christ as the Lord and her personal savior, and was a charter member of North Conway Baptist Church, where she remained active into her eighties. She was a fulltime homemaker, a Cub Scout den mother, a church youth leader, and was active with family, friends, and many ministry projects, including her favorite -- the North Conway Baptist Church Cradle Roll. She cherished her relationship with the Lord, her family, and her church. She rejoiced in helping others, and was always eager to share the Gospel. She loved spending time with her husband (watching him trout fish and beating him at canasta), laughed a lot, and always shared a joyful spirit. She was consistently good-humored, was very witty, and loved the mountains, traveling, growing flowers, watching birds, cooking and baking, playing the piano and the accordion, listening to Lawrence Welk music, and entertaining her grandchildren at every opportunity. She was predeceased by her husband in 1998. She is survived by her sons, Ted L. Gragg and Rod Gragg of Conway, daughters-in-law Connie Gragg and Cindy Gragg, nine grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, and two nephews, Robert Melton and Charles Lunsford. A visitation for family and friends is scheduled 4-5:30 p.m., Sunday, June 29 at Goldfinch Funeral Home in Conway. A celebration of Mrs. Gragg's life will be held at North Conway Baptist Church at 4 p.m., Monday, June 30. Those who wish to do so, may make a donation to North Conway Baptist Church or Conway Christian School in lieu of flowers.
