Myrtle Beach Gail B. Gerringer Gail Bankes Gerringer age 61, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, August, 15, 2010. Gail passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her husband, daughter and 5 beloved dogs. She is preceded in death by her father, Harry Bankes and her brother, Bruce Bankes. She is survived by her loving husband of 28 years, Gary Gerringer; daughter, Brenda Gerringer Bertang (John); mother, Purletta Bankes of York, PA; sister, Carol McWilliams (Phil) of Baltimore, MD and one niece and five nephews. Gail was born in Tamaqua, PA. She attended Bridgewater College, PA .Prior to moving to Myrtle Beach Gail resided in Reidsville, NC and became a restaurateur. Owning Harry's CafÃ©, Farmers Table and the Country Dining Room in Eden, NC. Gail had been a long time resident of Myrtle Beach with husband Gary owning and operating Harry's Corner on Ocean Blvd for many years. In 2007 Gail and Gary began Harry's Beachside CafÃ© at Water Edge Resort in Garden City, SC. Gail enjoyed cruises, the Caribbean, investing in real estate and meeting new people. Gail enjoyed being active in such projects as the Citizen Police Academy, Hurricane Watcher on the evacuation team, Friendship Team and was a strong supporter of the Humane Society. Gail also held precious her membership in the First United Methodist Church of Myrtle Beach. In addition to her beloved family Gail leaves behind her adoring and beloved dogs, Scotter, Spooky, Candi, Boo and Baby Girl. Gail and her family would like to send a special thank you to Dr. Wm O'Conner and all medical staff members who cared for her, and the caring staff from Regency Hospice along with dear friends and neighbors. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday August, 18, 2010 at Goldfinch Funeral Home, Beach Chapel with Reverend Ken Timmerman officiating. Burial will follow at Ocean Woods Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 PM Tuesday August 17, 2010 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to The Humane Society of the Grand Strand 3241 10th Ave. Ext N.
