Conway, SC Mrs. Gwendolyn June Woodward, 85, widow of the late Bennie Woodward, passed away Saturday, March 22, 2025 at The Legacy of North Myrtle Beach. Born December 11, 1939 in Conway, Gwen was the daughter of the late Ollie McCord Williams and the late Ruth Elwood Capps Williams. She was a long-time member of Pauley Swamp Baptist Church and could always be seen working in her yard and caring for her flowers. Mrs. Woodward was an excellent seamstress and especially enjoyed quilting. One of her favorite pastimes was fishing. Gwen's greatest enjoyment came from hosting cookouts and meals for her entire family and her home was the center of activity. She was happiest when surrounded by her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and a host of friends. In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Woodward was predeceased by her sisters, Ollivee Cannon, Vera Graham, Betty Hardee, and Miriam Singleton; her brothers, James F. Williams and Aubry Williams; her granddaughter, Amber Woodward; her daughter-in-law, Carolyn Woodward; and her long-time friend, Billy Martin. Survivors include her children, Gregory M. Woodward and wife Paige, Darrell Woodward, and Robert Woodward and wife Denise; her grandchildren, Emily W. Kenworthy and husband Matt, Elizabeth Woodward and husband Jason Stamm, Alex Woodward and wife Katherine, and Vince Woodward and wife Davie; her great-grandchildren, Kaleigh Woodward, Keegan Woodward, Hannah Woodward, Leah Woodward, Eleanor Kenworthy, Charlie Kenworthy, and Scarlett Stamm; her sisters, Sandra McCracken and husband Carlyle and Barbara Griffin; and a host of nieces, nephews, other extended family members and friends. Funeral services will be held at 4:00PM Saturday, March 29, 2025 at Goldfinch Funeral Home, Conway Chapel, officiated by Rev. Robbin King. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 3:00PM-4:00PM Saturday. Memorial donations may be made to The Legacy at North Myrtle Beach, 491 Highway 17 North, Little River, SC 29566.
