Jannette Metts Kyzer

Conway, SC Mrs. Jannette Metts-Kyzer, age 86, passed away Thursday, September 10, 2026 at Myrtle Beach Manor. Born December 2, 1939 in Conway, SC, Jan was the daughter of the late Coleman L. Hucks and the late Irene Absher Hucks. She was a graduate of Conway High School and spent her career working in the medical records department of Conway Medical Center, retiring after 25 years of dedicated service. She was a talented seamstress and also enjoyed cross-stitch and painting. Jan was a long-time member of First Baptist Church Conway, and after her marriage to George Kyzer, became a long-time member of First United Methodist Church of Conway. Beyond all her accomplishments in life she was most proud of her family. She loved them passionately and enjoyed nothing more than spending time with them. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Metts-Kyzer was predeceased by her first husband, Louis Metts, and her second husband, George M. Kyzer. Survivors include her children, Martha Davis and husband Jody, Connie Purinton and husband Gary, and Steven L. Metts and wife Laura; her grandchildren, Lindsey Galloway and husband Grayson, Abby Morris and husband Dillon, Katie Parrish and husband Phillip, Gracie Wilson and husband Zachary, Sarah Dunne and husband Tyler, Nathan Alderman, and Michael Metts; her great-grandchildren, Norah, Hunter, and Quinn Galloway, and Parker and Macy Morris; and many other extended family and friends. Graveside services, officiated by Pastor Grayson Galloway and Pastor Robert Harper, will be held at 11:00AM Monday, September 14, 2026 at Hillcrest Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday evening, September 13, 2026 from 6:00PM-8:00PM.
