John Connor

Conway, SC Mr. John Stephen Connor II, age 69, passed away at his home on Friday, July 24, 2026, following a courageous battle with cholangiocarcinoma (bile duct cancer). Born March 6, 1957, in Baltimore, Maryland, John was the son of the late Louis Gabriel Connor and the late Mary Arlene Colbert Connor. After graduating from Towson Catholic High School in 1976, he worked as a certified travel consultant specializing in corporate travel. During retirement, he and his beloved wife, Beth, enjoyed traveling extensively, visiting Italy, Portugal, Spain, France, Hawaii, Alaska, Iceland, Greenland, Ireland, Canada, Norway, the Netherlands, Scotland, and Panama, as well as taking cruises throughout the Caribbean, Costa Rica, and other tropical destinations. John found great joy in creating memorable experiences for Beth and ensuring she always felt cherished and loved. A devoted husband, father, and family man, he placed his wife and children at the center of his life, always putting their happiness and well-being first. John and Beth relocated to Conway, South Carolina, in 2022, where they became parishioners of St. James Catholic Church. Prior to moving, John was actively involved as an usher with St. Stephen Catholic Church in Bradshaw, Maryland. John cherished time spent at Bozman, MD, Manomet, MA, and the beach and was a devoted Baltimore Ravens fan. Blessed with a warm and engaging personality, he had a remarkable ability to connect with others and could strike up a conversation with anyone. As those who knew him often said, John never met a stranger. John is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 47 years, Elizabeth Anne "Beth" Kammer Connor; his children, William C. Connor, Amy E. Mangold, and John S. Connor, Jr. and fiance Corinne; his grandson, Tyler Mangold; his siblings, Louis Gabriel Connor, Jr. and wife Beth, Joseph Connor and wife Beth, and James Connor; and a niece and many nephews, as well other extended family members and friends. Mr. Connor was predeceased by one sister, Mary Helen Connor Wimmer. Services will be planned in Maryland and information will be forthcoming.
