Tributes

Joseph E. Cavoli, age 71, of Crystal Lakes, passed away on Saturday, September 22, 2007 at his residence. Born in Utica, New York, Joseph was the son of the late Amelio and Marion Cavoli. On March 14, 1959 Joseph was joined in marriage to Rosalia F. Durso. Their 48 year union was marked by great togetherness and deep mutual caring. Mr. Cavoli served his country with the U.S. Air Force where he was a member of the 405th Transportation Squadron in the Republic of Korea. He was later employed with Frederich Air Conditioning in Utica as a machine operator, Kelsey Hayes as a machine operator, Rome Cable as a line operator, and his last place of employment was with LBJ Security as a security guard. Joseph and Rosalia retired to Myrtle Beach in 2004. Joseph was a member of the Order of Sons of Italy Lodge #2054, as well as the American Legion Post 229 in Utica. Joseph enjoyed dancing with his wife, cooking Italian food for his family, and he took great pride in his Italian heritage. He was a communicant of Saint Marks Catholic Church in Utica. His playful sense of humor always kept the mood light and cheerful to all those around him. Joseph was predeceased by father-in-law and mother-in-law, Geroardo and Marie Rose Durso with whom he shared a special relationship; and three brothers and two sisters-in-law, Carl Cavoli and wife, Joann, Jack Cavoli, and Robert Cavoli and wife, Marie Rose. Joseph is survived by his beloved wife Rosalia F. Cavoli; four beloved children; son, David Cavoly and his wife, Dianne, of Bangor, Maine; daughters, Margo Cavoly of Laurinburg, N.C., Kelly Ginnity of Wichita Falls, Texas, and Lisa Cavoli-Rogers and her husband, Brian D. Rogers, of Surfside Beach; 5 beloved grandchildren, Jordyn, Savanah, Jericho, Joshuah, and Sierah Ginnity; and 1 beloved great-granddaughter, Siena Rodriguez, the daughter of Savanah and Brandon Rodriguez; 4 sisters, Jeanette, and her late husband, Angelo Scarfino; Diane Gaetano and husband, Tony, Barbara Ritz and her late husband, Anthony, and Theresa Cox; 3 brothers, Jerry Cavoli and wife, Maryann, Donald Cavoli and wife, Sue, and Richard Cavoli and wife, Diane; his cousin, Roger Goff and wife, Lucretia; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Tuesday, September 25, 2007 from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 6 to 8 p.m. with a Prayer Vigil beginning at 6 p.m at Goldfinch Funeral Home, Beach Chapel. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, September 26, 2007 at the funeral home. Father Ray Carlo will be officiating.
