KARL ERIC WALTERS SR. (July 22, 1961-June 11, 2026) It is with heavy hearts and profound gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the passing of Karl Eric Walters, Sr. who was called to his eternal home on June 11, 2026, at the age of 64. Born on July 22, 1961, in Lakewood, New Jersey, Karl graced this world with his infectious grin, boundless energy, and enormous head. He leaves a wonderful legacy of love, laughter, and service. Karl was the cherished son of Alf and Elin Walters, and he was blessed to grow up surrounded by the love of his family in a home filled with warmth and adventure. He was the cherished youngest sibling of his 2 sisters: Kristine (Kris) Kronenbitter (Rob) and Karin Bartley (Dan). His sisters were his protectors, tormentors (sibling love) and source of life wisdom that extended throughout his life. In his youth, Karl's love for the great outdoors was evident as he immersed himself in activities like camping and hunting. He was a proud graduate of Shenendehowa High School in Clifton Park, NY. He enthusiasm for life was evident in his participation in the Pinewood derby during his time in the Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts where his passion for cars began to take root. A charter member of the Tama Swedish Folk Dancing Club, Karl embraced his heritage with pride and joy. Karl's career was a testament to his dedication, skill, and love for working with his hands. From the steel mills to planned outages at nuclear facilities, and finally as the Maintenance Director for The Noble Company of SC, LLC, Karl's contributions were marked by his integrity, expertise, and quiet humility. The love story of Karl and his devoted wife, Debbie Yarborough Walters, was one of deep commitment and shared dreams. Together, they celebrated 20 wonderful years of marriage, recently renewing their vows in a joyous celebration of love and partnership. The bond was further strengthened by their shared work experiences, which fostered a life rich in companionship and mutual respect. Karl was the proud father of 2 children: Krystal Leigh Walters Falls (husband Roger) and Karl Eric Walters, Jr. (wife Deanna), and ultimate stepfather to Brynn Jesalyn Rose Jones. He was the adored "Morfar" "Farfar" and/or "PopPop" to his 9 grandchildren: Jake & Evan, Jocelyn, Jolene, Julian, Madison & Noah, and Thomas and Joshua. These grands were the light of his life. His love for them was truly boundless, and his mischievous spirit was always ready for afternoon, night, or morning round of Nerf battles, complete with "laughter 'til you cry" moments. An active member of Pine Grove Baptist Church, Karl lived his faith through service. Whether running the sound equipment, making repairs inside and outside of the church building, or singing in the Choir, he gave himself selflessly, embodying the teachings of Jesus Christ in his everyday life. His ability to see a problem and resolve it quietly was a testament to his character, and love for his church and community. Karl's hobbies reflected his zest for life. He cherished camping trips with Debbie, solving life's problems by the campfire. with dreams of traveling the country in their 5th wheel camper once they retired. His signature mustache and body-shaking fits of giggling were as memorable as his unyielding love for his family and friends. A Celebration of Karl's life will be held on Sunday, June 21, 2026, at 4:00 PM in the fellowship hall at Pine Grove Baptist Church, located at 4686 Old Reaves Ferry Road, Conway, SC 29526. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to be made to the PGBC Building Fund, ensuring that Karl's legacy of service and love continue to make an impact. Karl Eric Walters, Sr. was a man who loved deeply, laughed freely, and gave generously. His spirit lives on in the hearts of those who knew him as a beacon of love, joy, and faith. He will be dearly missed but remembered by all who were blessed to know him.
