Surfside Beach Patricia Ann Main, age 72, passed away Wednesday, May 14, 2014 surrounded by family and friends. Patricia was born in Jersey City, NJ and after raising a family and managing a large DMV agency in Edison, NJ moved to Murrells Inlet, SC in 1991. She enjoyed people more than anything so all of her activities revolved around nurturing relationships like cooking, golfing, various social groups, and shopping. She excelled in business and political endeavors with her engaging personality, honesty, and sense of humor. People loved her stories like the time she met Senator Jacob Javits in an elevator at a convention and set his newspaper on fire with her cigarette. She could have a room of people laughing for hours with the stories of her pratfalls. She never met a stranger and was never more content than when she had a house full of people enjoying each other and her cooking. Patricia was a devoted wife, mother and friend. She will be greatly missed. She attended St. Michael Catholic Church in Surfside Beach. Patricia was preceded in death by a son, Robert D. Main; a brother, Jack Sulzinsky; a sister, Michele Sulzinsky; a son in law, Edward Robertson and a brother in law, Donald Main. Survivors include her loving husband, Robert V. Main; children, Loree Reed and husband George, Joi Robertson, Edward Jersek and wife Sandy, Mark Jersek and wife Melissa, Tracy Pelfrey and Gail Garvin; grandchildren, Jessica Marshall, Shannon Huckelby, Jamie Main, Jenna Main, Cara Aston, Ashley Robertson, Cadee Robertson, Skyler Jersek, Diana Pelfrey, Rachel Pelfrey, Macy Jersek, Cole Jersek and Jorja Jersek; great grandchildren, Sofia Roberts, Gabriel Aston, Silas Aston, Asia Pelfrey and Ashley Huckelby; and brother-in-law, Victor Main. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, May 17, 2014 at St. Michael Catholic Church with Father Ed Fitzgerald officiating. The family will receive friends from 4:00-7:00 PM Friday, May 16, 2014 at Goldfinch Funeral Home, Beach Chapel.
