Conway....Patricia "Patsy" K. Smith, age 79, beloved wife of the late Joseph S. "Joe Sam" Smith, Jr., passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 12, 2025. Born on June 12, 1946, in Clinton, SC, Patsy was the cherished daughter of the late Charles Brown and Theda Patricia Giles Kugler. She was a devoted member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Conway, where she actively served in the We Care Ministry, embodying the compassion and kindness she was known for throughout her life. Patsy dedicated over 15 years of service to the Horry County Probate Court before retiring, where her warmth and professionalism touched many lives. She was preceded in death by her sister, Barbara Carter, and her nephew, Billy McPherson. A loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, Patsy found joy in the simple pleasures of life-sunny days on the beach, caring for her beloved cats and any stray animals in need, attending her grandchildren's events, and spending cherished time with family and friends. Her gentle spirit, unwavering love, and welcoming smile made everyone feel at home in her presence. She leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness that will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Surviving are her son, Joseph S. "Doc" Smith III (Ashley) of Myrtle Beach; her daughter, Amy S. Burger (Brian) of Mt. Pleasant, SC; six grandchildren: Britton Burger, Blane Burger, BrooksAnn Burger, Jackson Smith, Grayson Smith, and Addison Smith; her niece, Ellen Squyars (Anthony) of Chesterfield, VA; her brother-in-law, Michael "Toddy" Smith (Marianne) of Columbia, SC; and her sister-in-law, Dr. Gayle Blouin (Dr. Randy Blouin) of Greenville, SC. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, August 23, 2025, at Goldfinch Funeral Home, Conway Chapel, with Rev. Bill McCown officiating. A private inurnment will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM prior to the service.
