Rodney Lee Langston, 73, of Conway, SC departed from his temporary home in this world and entered the gates of Heaven on November 19, 2024. He was born on October 28, 1951 in Hendersonville, NC, son of the late LaRue and Dorothy Langston. He grew up and spent most of his life in Myrtle Beach, SC. He was a member of the U.S. Army and served his country in Germany during the Vietnam War. Rodney loved fishing, car racing, working in his yard, and spending time with his wife, children, and grandchildren. He loved to admire God's creation and enjoyed riding through the mountains or being on the river. Rodney was a member of Bakers Chapel Baptist Church where he taught Sunday School and served as a deacon. He loved to read his bible, grow his relationship with Jesus, and share the Word of God with others as much as possible. His greatest mission in life was to serve Christ as witness, seeking to grow the Kingdom of God. Above all, Rodney valued God, his family, and his work ethic. Those who knew Rodney know the rarity of his character and will feel his absence for years to come. He was the best husband, father, pawpaw, and friend you could ask for. Though he will be missed, he is rejoicing in Heaven and will be waiting for the rest of us to arrive. Rodney leaves behind his wife of 55 years, Diane Langston; his children, Vance Langston, Kimberly Altman (Russell), and Matthew Langston (Jenifer); his grandchildren, Taylor Langston, Sierra Foster (Smith), Olivia Langston, Savannah Langston, and Langston Altman; one great-grandson, Layton Foster; and many extended family members and countless friends. Rodney was met in Heaven by his parents, LaRue and Dorothy Langston; one brother, Cheves Langston; his granddaughter, Sidney Langston; his father-in-law, Ben Suggs; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. The family wishes to send out a special thanks to Amedysis Hospice for the great care they provided Rodney and the entire family. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Bakers Chapel Baptist Church. A visitation will be held on Thursday, November 21, 2024 at Goldfinch Funeral Home in Conway from 5:00-7:00pm. A funeral service will take place on Friday, November 22, 2024 at 3:00 PM at Bakers Chapel Baptist Church in Aynor.
