Scott Anthony D'Angelo, born on July 23, 1961, in Pittsburgh PA was sent to his eternal home on February 23, 2025, while on vacation with his family. Scott was a kind, thoughtful, and generous man whose love for his family, coworkers, and community knew no bounds. He brought warmth and kindness to everyone he met, always offering a helping hand. His life was defined by the love he shared, and the unwavering care he showed to those around him. His passing leaves a deep void, but his legacy of compassion and generosity will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him. We ask that you remember Scott not for the way his life ended, but for the love, kindness, and joy he brought to the world every day. Scott is survived by his loving wife, Amy, and his children, Caitlynn, Megan, Lucas, and Jordan, who were his greatest pride and joy. He was a devoted grandfather to Ella Cait, Sophia, Lawton, Eliza, and Quinn, whose lives were brightened by his love and warmth. Scott is also survived by his siblings, Dave, Paula, and Nancy. His kindness, generosity, and unwavering love for his family and community will forever be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him. Scott dedicated his life to helping and saving others, specializing in anesthesia with a deep commitment to patient care. A graduate of La Roche College, he began his career at St. Francis Hospital, working alongside his wife, Amy. It was there that his passion for medicine and service took root, laying the foundation for a remarkable career. For the next 35 years, Scott made an indelible impact at McLeod Hospital, where his expertise, compassion, and steady presence earned him the admiration of colleagues and the gratitude of countless patients. He was more than just a skilled anesthetist—he was a mentor, a leader, and a source of reassurance in critical moments. His dedication to his craft and the well-being of those in his care left a legacy within the hospital community. In addition to his work in the hospital, Scott also served his country with honor in the Navy Reserves for over 20 years, rising to the rank of Commander. His service reflected his unwavering sense of duty and selflessness, embodying the same commitment to others that defined his medical career. Whether in the operating room or in uniform, Scott’s life was one of purpose, compassion, and dedication to those in need. Outside of work, Scott found joy in pushing his limits, whether through training for races and endurance competitions or simply staying active. He had a deep passion for fitness, embracing every challenge with determination and drive. When he wasn’t competing, he explored the world with his family, creating unforgettable memories in new places. Among his favorite destinations was Disney, where he loved sharing the magic with his grandchildren. No matter where his travels took him, one thing remained constant, his love for sweets. Whether it was a post-race treat or a shared dessert with loved ones, Scott never passed up the chance to indulge in something delicious, a small but cherished joy in a life so fully lived. Scott’s devotion to the All Saints Church community was a quiet yet powerful force, working behind the scenes to support the church and its congregation. Whether lending a helping hand wherever needed, offering a warm smile to those who walked through the doors, or simply leading by example through his generosity and kindness, he embodied the spirit of Christ. His unwavering dedication left an impact, and his absence will be deeply felt by all who knew him. Scott was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who poured his heart into his family. He loved making memories with his grandchildren, whether through outdoor adventures, days spent by the water or simply sharing laughter and stories. His sweet tooth became a treasured family trait, passed down through generations. His life was defined by the love he shared, and the unwavering care he showed to those around him. His passing leaves a deep void, but his legacy of compassion and generosity will live on in the hearts of all who have had the privilege of knowing him. We ask that you remember Scott not for the way his life ended, but for the love, kindness, and joy he brought to the world every day. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to the American Heart Foundation. Scott’s life was rich in love, and the outpouring of support from family and friends reflects the incredible impact he had on those around him. To honor his memory, we will be holding two viewings: one in Florence on Sunday, March 9 at Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home (2402 S Irby St) from 2-5PM and another in Pawleys Island on Tuesday, March 11 at Goldfinch Funeral Home, Litchfield Pawleys Chapel (202 Hinnant Ln) from 4-7PM, before funeral services at at 1PM on Wednesday, March 12 at All Saints Church in Pawleys Island (3560 Kings River Rd). These gatherings will be a time to celebrate Scott’s life, share cherished memories, and come together in remembrance of the love and kindness he showed to so many.
